Military Ranks In IRAN and U.S. Armies

In these levels, promotion is generally noncompetitive and is attained by the years of service.

In another stage, there are warrant officers who are appointed by President with the consent of the Senate. This stage is belonged to US Army and is Non-equivalent in Iran Army. There are five ranks: Warrant Officer 1, Chief Warrant Officer 2, Chief Warrant Officer 3, Chief Warrant Officer 4, Chief Warrant Officer. Warrant officers' insignias are silver bars ornamented with one through four enamel black squares.

Contrasting between Iran and US Armies, we see some ranks in high mid-levels: these Officers start with Sotvan Sevom, Dovom and Yekom, in comparison, in US Army there are Second Lieutenant and First Lieutenant; In continuance, there are Sarvan and Sargord or in US Army Captain and Major.
